1986 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon GL description
Vanagon GL 1986 in excellent condition, up for sale. The owners before me were a wonderful older couple that had this camper through most of its lifetime. The wildest adventures they went on was to the nearest lake. It has always been kept inside and has no rust on it. The interior looks excellent and is all original. Both tables (which is a rare thing), as well as the mirror in the cupboard are in the van. The original bug net and the original front window curtain are there with no holes (very rare). Both stoves work.
Engine was completely rebuilt. All engine parts were replaced as well as the clutch. Around 60,000 miles on rebuilt engine. The car runs very smoothly. Newly installed rebuilt transmission, less than 100 miles on it (paperwork for engine and transmission is available).
Plugs, points and wires in engine
Breaks and cylinders in back
New shocks in back (Bilstein)
New pop-top three window tent. Looks very nice and matches the interior
Gas fridge does not seem to work, hasn't been used for years so it might just need a little bit of hard work to get started. Electric parts of the fridge work fine.
This van has been treated with care. Water coolant regularly changed as well as oil. It is a pearl because everything is original. No modifications have been made which make it a rare beauty.
I bought it with the intention of doing a road trip around the States. The van has been checked by mechanics and made so that the road trip would be possible without anything going wrong. Unfortunately, school has been taking too much of my time so I decided to postpone the trip until I'm done with my studies. Hopefully it will go to someone who will have more time for it.
Selling it for $25500 or best offer. Free delivery might be an option.
