1960 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 220SE description
This beautiful convertible was delivered to the first owner Mark Lewis in Los Angeles, CA on January 28th. 1961.
He sold the car years later to Helen Zamorano and Zak Zakarian in Los Angeles, CA. Zak sold the car on January 9th. 2001 to John Maples in Texas, who gave the order for a complete engine overhaul. (New pistons, bearings, shaft seals, timing chain, valve seats, planning oft the cylinder head and complete sealing) and who in turn sold the car in 2010 to its current owner in Florida.
In 2010 the car has been given a ground-up restoration that took well over two years and was carried out by one of the best Mercedes restoration specialists, David Polny,190 SL Services in Aberdeen, NC. During the restoration process the paint was changed from MB light blue to the original Mercedes Benz factory combination of Erdberrot (DB 543 Strawberry Metallic) with camel leather interior. (Detailed Photos and all invoices of the restoration are available).
The car looks and drives like new.
The odometer shows 113.800 mls which corresponds with the paperwork and seems to be accurate. NO RUST AT ALL.
