1935 Ford Other description

Up for bids is my 1935 Ford Cabriolet. This is a very period correct 50's style hotrod with a ton of character. It's fun to drive and get's a lot of attention any where it goes. It's a very rare car and you don't really see them, especially as hot rods. From what I know it was originally hotrodded in the 40s/50s, then sold to the man I bought it from in the late 1950s. He disassembled the entire car to convert it back to stock. He had it re-painted over 40 years agoand it was never re-assembled after the paintjob. I got it in 2014 from him, he was the2nd owner. It was a bone stock car when I got it. I took it down to the bare frame and started over. I left the body unchanged from how I got it because it is very old laquer paint and still looks really cool. It definitely is not perfect and has a few scratches and dings. There is also some of the old bodywork starting to come out but it's minimal. I think it all adds to the nostalgia and character that the car has so I have never wanted to fix it. I installed a Chassis Engineering parallel leaf spring rear suspension setup and split wishbones setup up front. I sent out theoriginal front axle and had itdropped and narrowed by Andy Kohler (Kohler Kustoms) in PA. I alsoinstalled a Pete & Jakes pedal assembly. The rear axle is an early Ford big bearing 9inch with all new brakes.I also have added machined down early Ford banjo hubs on the rear so it still looks like a banjo rear when the hubcaps are off. 48 Ford front brakes with new shoes and wheel cylinders. Wheels are gloss black 40 Ford 16x4 and 16x4.5 wheels with Coker radial whitewalls with the whitewalls turned to the inside. I also have a set of chromed 40 Ford wheels that looked pretty cool with the whitewalls too. If the new owner wants those, I will sell them. I also have the original rear bumper and spare tire setup as well. The engine is a 56 Olds 324 Rocket with #10 cylinder heads, all still sporting the original paint. The 324 has a Schneider cam, original Hurst engine mount, Offy bellhousing adapter made to clear orig Ford steering box. Also runs an Offy oil filter relocator. The engine runs like a top. Does not smoke or leak. Trans is a very rare1937 Buick Roadmaster 3speed toploader. New Detroit Clutchmasters clutch. Bellhousing was customized and uses a Wilwood hydraulic cylinder against the clutch fork on the passenger side in order to keep the pedals under the floor and not on the firewall. Rare Edelbrock OL396-B intake manifold made specifically for #10 cylinder heads on 56 Olds. 3 original Stromberg 97s with homemade linkage. Orig Moon fuel block from the 50s and an original Filto-reg regulator. I made custom brackets and mounted a new32 Ford radiator up front that allowed enough room for a mechanical fan. This is one of, if not the only 35-40 Fords I have ever seen with an uncut firewall, Buick/Olds V8 and mechanical fan. I have ran it in all temps and it never gets too hot. All wiring was removed and the car now has a new Painless Perf wiring harness and hidden Optima battery. All visible wiring is vintage cloth covered wire though. Original distributor was fitted with a Pertronix HEI and used HEI plug wires that are custom made with cloth/laquer. Interior is aLebaron Bonney kitthat was bought by 2nd owner in the 1970s but just recently installed. I re-did the seat so that it sits about 2" lower and 6" further back than stock. (I am 6'3" and fit in the car great) I had the hood louvered and meticulously painted to match the old red laquer paint. Legendary artist Josh Shaw pinstriped the whole car. Orig Stewart Warner gauges are mounted in a very rare AC gauge panel from a 1937 GMC diesel truck. A Sun tach from a late 50s Chris Craft boat is mounted in the center dash waterfall. Old Arvin heater mounted to firewall is restored with a new 12v blower motor and works great. Old Schneider Cams shift knob. Rear bumper is a bobbed rear 53 Chevy car bumper with hand bent brackets made from a leftover front leaf spring. We made and installed the new top using orig rear window. All in all, it is a veryperiod correct 50s hotrod with just a few hidden modern upgrades. This thing is a blast to drive and is like a time machine back to the 50s. If you have any questions or need more details, please email me. I have a clear Ohio title in my name. Car will not leave the garage until all funds have cleared. I will sell the car to international buyers. I will add a buy it price if serious buyer. Buyer is responsible for any/all shipping. Thanks for looking!

I have had a lot of questions about the hood. I have the original 4pc hood for the car too. I used another hood top that is louvered that is on the car. It will come with both hoods.
