HISTORY OF THE FERRARI 308Introduced at the Paris Motor Show as the replacement for the Dino 246 in 1975, the 308 has a solid place in Ferrari history. Designed by Leonardo Fioravanti, who had previously penned the 365 Daytona for Pininfarina, the 308 quickly won over many enthusiasts for both its looks and performance. Ferrari soon saw the need for an open version and the 308 GTS entered production in 1977 and featured a removable Targa top, allowing for open air motoring. A desirable model with excellent looks and performance, only 3,219 308 GTS’ left the Maranello factory until 1980. As a whole, the 308 GTS is often associated with the TV show Magnum, P.I. as the model played a starring role in the series, capturing the hearts of many as it chased down criminals on the islands of Hawaii with actor Tom Selleck behind the wheel. The 308's iconic wedge shape was a staple of the time and is one of the most recognized today; ensuring the 308 GTS collectability and desirability for years to come. This vehicle would be in excellent condition overall. It could be a completely restored or an extremely well maintained original vehicle showing very minimal wear. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are not in need of reconditioning. The interior would be in excellent condition. Note: This value does not represent a "100 Point" or "# 1" vehicle *.* "100 Point" or "# 1" vehicle is not driven. It would generally be in a museum or transported in an enclosed trailer to concourse judging and car shows. This type of car would be stored in a climate-regulated facility.

    Financing

Finance rates as low as 5.9%.

We know that classic car financing can pose a unique challenge. Although a vintage or exotic car can be an excellent investment, some financial institutions attempt to apply standard “used car” rules for financing a classic car, which in many cases can make loan approval difficult.

We work closely with many banking institutions that understand and recognize the collector value of classic cars and view them as an investment, which allows us to help you get the financing you need so that you can have the car you have dreamed of.

Terms available up to 144 Months

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us, (314)291-7000 or credit@schmitt.com

    * Rates vary depending on year of car, length of term and credit score.

Despite our best efforts to verify a vehicle’s mechanical condition, we are not able to warranty a manufacturer’s workmanship or a previous owner’s diligence in care of said vehicle. Due to this reason, all vehicles are sold “AS IS”. There are no mechanical guarantees, expressed or implied.

Daniel Schmitt & Co. reserves the right to end the auction at any time.
